“Do you have the courage to change? In Eboni Booth’s absorbing, funny, and ultimately stunning new play—the New York Times Critic’s Pick and “pretty darn near to a perfect play” (Tim Teeman, Daily Beast)—William Jackson Harper (The Good Place) heads a remarkable company, directed by Knud Adams, as Kenneth, a 38-year-old bookstore worker facing a world he’s long avoided. The Observer says, “it will restore your faith in theatre’s elemental storytelling powers.”” - www.roundabouttheatre.org

My scope of work for this show was generating system paperwork, drafting the plot, console programming, and system optimization - all according to the sound designer’s (Mikaal Sulaiman) specifications. Our system consited of a Yamaha LS9-32 mixing console, a Yamaha DME 64 Digital Signal Processor, Dante IO for Q-Lab/Ableton/ & the Live Musician through various IO devices (RME devices, ADAT cards, Presonus Preamps, etc.), an onstage musician rig, and a combination of Meyer, D&B, and EAW cabinets.
During tech, I worked closely with Mikaal - supporting on the console/ systems end - whatever he needed to get done in Q-lab & Ableton. Usually this consisted of updating the cue sheet, adjusting inputs as mics shifted around or changed function, and communicating with stage management, sound board operator and the production audio, Mike Deyo. The sound team worked closely with the onstage musician Luke Wydogny, who throughout the play provided underscoring with keyboard, guitar, and cello (while also ringing a service-counter-style bell). Below are some examples of my work for this show, as well as some more production photos.
